Visit my favorite Social Networking website, you say. Guess what? I just discovered that I don’t have one. I searched Twitter, I searched Facebook, I even went as far as to search LinkedIn, and I’m stumped. I think the problem lies in how I have set each one of these sites up. They really only serve me for two reasons: one, to reach people, to give encouragement, support, caring, and compassion, and two, to keep up with the places, things, and people that are part of my life. Consequently, when I look at any one of these sites, I’m seeing only things of possible personal interest to me, but I am struck by …

Over there… the exuberant squeal of a child and the accompanying raucous bark of a yappy dog pierce the early afternoon air. Above, painted against the azure blue sky, are seagulls on the hunt for lunch. There’s something timeless about watching our little humans and our family pets interact. Throw in the great and beautiful outdoors, add a dash of sunshine, a dollop of water, and a ton of sand, and you’ve got shenanigans for sure! Hear the splashing and thud as the ball hits the wet sand? Make way, as you hear and feel mini thunder gaining on your six and there dashes by two of the dogs, chasing each other in giddy play. The laughing burble of the water’s edge as in a futile attempt it grasps at the paws of the dogs racing each other into deeper water. Halting abruptly, they take a drink and then continue with a skip and leap, run deeper and now swim. Here come more giggles and snorts as the baby captures all attention while lovingly patting dogs left and right. With a deepening satisfaction and cleansing breath, you just know this day will end with a sweet campfire roasting s’mores.
